The Christmas Cookie Jar

I decided that the cookies for this week needed to be more kid friendly.  In other words, have sprinkles!!!

I found this recipe for shortbread cookies and they were really yummy.  :)
I don't remember where I found the recipe, but here it is:

Short Bread Cookies:
-1 c. butter, room temp.
-3/4 c. powdered sugar
-2 tsp. vanilla extract
-2 c. flour
-1/4 tsp. baking powder
-1/2 tsp. salt
-red and green sprinkles
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
Add flour, powder and salt.
Mix and roll into log.  Wrap and refrigerate about 1 hour.
Take out and slice.
Press one side of each cookie into a bowl of sprinkles.
Bake @ 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.  (mine took a good bit longer)

Mabry made us some cookies with sprinkles last week. I am fairly confident that she managed to put more sprinkles onto the table and floor than she did on the cookies.

Sadie and I just made these for Santa and they were so simple and delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe, Stace! (And I am calling you that because I can never remember if your name is spelled Stacy or Stacey...). You helped me have "a Martha moment!"
