Traditions Tuesday

Traditions Tuesday!

Watching the Charlie Brown cartoon for whatever holiday it is should already be a tradition in your house!  ;)  So why not take it one simple step further!  When there's all kinds of hustling and bustling in the kitchen trying to get Thanksgiving Dinner ready and the kids are "starving" it's the perfect time to pop them down in front of the TV w/ a light snack that will tide them over till it's time for dinner!

Do you remember the impromptu "feast" that snoopy prepared for all of Charlie Brown's friends?  It consisted of buttered toast, popcorn, pretzels and jelly beans.  It's fun to involve the children if there is an Aunt or Uncle that isn't too busy and can help them.

Just give each kiddo their own baggie and have bowls of the other ingredients on the table.  Instead of buttered toast you can use those little melba toast crackers or the little bagel crackers that are seasoned.  Have the kids take turns putting a handful of each thing into their baggie (watch out, they always go back for more jelly beans!!!)  Then start the show and let them fill their little bellies.  This is good to do about 2 hours b/f the big meal.  It keeps them busy and out of the way for awhile!  And then, of course, you send them outside!  :)
